Hotel de Samboanga

The origin of the word Zamboanga came from the early Malays who came to settle at the tip of Zamboanga peninsula. These Malays discovered the place to be profusely blooming with plants and flowers and called it “Jambangan”  meaning “land or pot of flowers.” However, the early Badjaos and Samals who settled on and off the shorelines confused with the name “Jambangan” and called the place “Samboangan” instead.

Thus is born Hotel de Samboanga, a 50 room boutique hotel at the heart of Zamboanga City, inspired by the city's local legend and origin to express a unique architectural theme.

Shaped like a ceramic pot, Hotel de Samboanga aims to utilize the vast and rich indigenous greenery of Zamboanga City in its interior as a unique hospitality experience.
